‘In art, I lose myself. It happens naturally and organically, as I have come to realise, whatever I produce is part of my journey as an artist and will improve with time and further practice. When I was a child, I loved to draw and paint, and although over the years I tried to ignore the calling of the canvas, it’s in my blood, my breath, my being. I love to do illustration work, but I also enjoy the freedom offered by experimenting and playing in other mediums to my own brief.’

I was born in London but has been lucky enough to live in San Francisco and Singapore. I have a foundation level in Art from the University of the Arts College Farnham, a degree in Political Science from Durham University and a Masters in Professional Writing from Falmouth University. My passion in life is art and in 2022 I decided to devote my time to writing and illustration projects, alongside trying to improve my portraiture work, inspired by the Portrait Artist of the Year programme that’s been running the past few years on Sky.

In 2017 my life was saved by a stranger when my liver failed due to an incurable autoimmune disease I was diagnosed with at the age of 17. Autoimmune hepatitis has a series of symptoms that make life challenging, but I am a very positive individual and keenly believe that my diagnosis was actually beneficial, as it’s enabled me to appreciate every day as a blessing.

I am a mixed media artist and enjoy new challenges. Inspired by Quentin Blake, I have embraced what I do naturally in terms of my illustration style and look to artists across the world for my more varied pieces. You can find out more about my writing projects on www.lucindaparkerroberts.com. I offer EFT to those facing a life-changing medical diagnosis on www.theeftacademyuk.com and I also have a podcast called ‘This Second Chance Life’ where I feature inspiring stories from those who have faced adversity and been given an opportunity to have a second chance in some way in life.
